Stamfordham First School
We love gardening here at Stamfordham First school. We believe that learning through gardening should be an indispensable part of children’s education and personal development. Learning through gardening connects children to their food and community and engages them in nurturing a healthy planet.
Our green-fingered children have planted runner beans, tomatoes, potatoes and herbs, which provide opportunities for learning about where food comes from, healthy eating and cooking healthy foods. Things are starting to grow and our school garden is full.
We cultivate the crops and share them amongst the children to take home and enjoy! Here are some photos of our 'green fingered' projects:
